Gaming Headset with independent volume?

I'm looking for a gaming headset for PC that's comfortable and has good sound. The problem I have is that I need one where the volume is adjustable independently of windows volume. My current headset is very loud, so I have to turn the volume very low to make it bearable, but when I record games this makes the audio in the videos virtually non-existent.
