Gaming laptop for 1000

I just am about to start college and was looking to get a laptop. I thought why not get one that can play games as well as do school work while im on the go. But im stuck I have chosen a few but all the reviews have me iffy. Just seeing if anyone knew any good ones so I dont screw myself with a bad laptop.

I have a Acer Aspire V15 NITRO myself and can only say good things. Note though, that the 2nd has 5400HDD
