Gaming Laptop hunt continues

Hey everyone! A few days ago I posted a question a about gaming laptops and I'm back again with another! I'm looking to get a solid gaming laptop with at least a GTX 1070 and a max price of $2000-$2200. I think I've narrowed my choices down to either a Gigabyte or Asus.

For Gigabyte I'm looking at: http/www.xoticpc.com/gigabyte-p57xv7-kl3.html. The reviews are solid, has everything I'm looking for and I hear it rarely throttles under heavy loads.

Now asus is more complicated. I'm looking athe the following models:

Now I like that the asus rigs have G Sync, that is a nifty plus that Gigabyte doesn't have, BUT Amy question to the community is WHAT ARE THR DIFFERENCES IN THE ABOVE MODELS!!! I've spent some time looking at them and I can't tell what the NEWEST modle is and can really only see the differences between refresh rates, SSD storage, and screen size.

What do you think? Which is rigs are the best and what brand would you prefer !

first, you have to decide if you are going to use it as laptop - on battery and carry it around (taking to classes for example).
in case you are going to use it at "home" only and without external monitor, the 17" Asus with 120Hz panel and 512GB SSD makes more sense.
if you are going to carry it around get the same as above, just 15". take a look at what razer have to offer as well.
if you are going to carry it around and going to play on external monitor, paying extra on 120Hz is not necessary.
Anyway, look around for other laptops as well (they don't have to carry the "gaming", just i7- HQ + GTX 1070 + 16GB RAM + 500GB NVMe SSD ). Dell doing a nice job (both inspirion and alienware), already mentioned razer.

I really want to use it for on the go. I do have a desktop rig that I use now but want to laptop so I'm not constricted to one place. I don't plan on using another display so I'm still debating on weather a 15 or 17 inch display is better. I'm not overly concerned about the battery life because with these laptops it's a given that you'll get maybe 2 hours tops.

just curios, if you are going to use 1080p panel, whats wrong with GTX 1060 laptops ?

or just configure this as you wish: http/www.dell.com/en-us/member/shop/productdetails/alienware-15-laptop/dkcwkblf044s both of the above are quite a bit higher quality higher quality.
I'd probably go with alienware 13 and GTX 1060. portable powerful gaming laptop.

I was going with the GTX 1070 in hopes of getting g better performance as well as "future proofing" the rig for a few more years. Thanks for he link I'll check Alienware out too!

based on personal experience, i would say yes. Been using an acer laptop for the last 6 yrs without any major issues.
