About a month ago I built a PC. It was pretty budget for the most part but I want to upgrade it as I get around 40 FPS on low settings in 1080P games. The issue is I dont know what I want to upgrade. As of right now I have:

MSI H110 Mobo
2 sticks of 4 gig Hyper Fury ram
GTX 1060 Graphics card
i3 Processor (Biggest Regret)

So I dont know if I should just buy an i5 and hope that that does enough since both of my monitors are 60 hz refresh rate anyways or go with a GTX 1060. If you guys would let me know I would appreciate it.

Solution
Get an i5 6600. It will fit with your current motherboard. Paired with the 1060 that you already have, you can expect 60 fps in all games to date at 1080p. The reason you are getting crappy performance is due to the fact that your system is only working to the maximum potential of that i3 due to a bottleneck.
