Gateway 3040gz charging probs

i have a gateway 3040gz laptop and it will run with ac cord but not on the battery i replaced ac cord,battery and dc jack but led won't change from its solid red color no matter how long i have it pluged in

So in other words, your laptop doesn't want to charge the battery? Have you tried resetting the battery?
