gateway laptop balck screen but power light in on

hello everyone,

Using F12 to change boot order, when we select the usb to start, it say the it was blocked for secure the we change the boot order after press F2, to startup from the usb drive, then it does not get up

OK confused. Is the problem a boot order issue or a black screen that you can't see anything on? If it is the black screen (per the title), is it black from the moment you try to turn it on, or does it start out showing stuff and then go black?
