Gateway NV53A latop screen wont power up

So I had my laptop put away for a few months until I got a new charging port. I managed to install the new charging port but when I turned on the laptop the screen was pitch black. It seem like the screen itself wasn't getting any power since it wasn't even lighting up. I was able to use a external monitor via HDMI cable and it still works fine.

I wanted to know if I had any other options of fixing this issue before I go off and try to buy a new screen.

It's likely that you accidentally disconnected one of the display cables while replacing the charging port. Try opening it up and reseating the cable.
