im trying to find out if i can upgrade my cpu i-3 to a i-5 or i-7, will my mother bored be able to support it.

The answer is actually a little tricky. Yes, your laptop supports i5s and i7s, but probably not the ones you're thinking of. Things like the i3-2120, i5-2500k and i7-2600k will not work.

Your computer uses Socket G1, which only supports some older laptop specific processors.
