GE remote wont activate menu

had a power outage,then everything was o.k. except ge remote would not show menu. will turn vcr on and off but cant get menu to set the date and time. tried reboot cable box and still no luck

i finally figured it out. too many remotes!! my universal remote didnt do the trick but the new remote with new hdtv did the trick,just put on to source click on vcr and there is the vcr menu. thx for your input anyway
