Hello,
My Vaio laptop has recently come out of computer hospital, cooling fan issues, and so needed re-installed all sorts of things. Now, it no longer recognises the external monitor and the F7 key does nothing. Neither do the F3-6 keys which are for brightness/ volume etc. My computer repair man is saying let me fit a new keyboard, but I think maybe the problem is out of date drivers, but can't find the right ones on Sony websites. Any ideas please?

If you are still stuck after this, give me your laptop MODEL so I can look at the support site myself...

There is usually an application at your Driver/Software support site that needs to be installed again to bring back this support.

You need to find that page for your EXACT laptop model and read what each piece of software does.

Other:
Most laptops have a backup IMAGE that can be restored (it's hidden on the Hard Drive). You start the procedure with one of the F-Keys on bootup. Be warned:
a) a Factory Restore will wipe out all changes
b) you will still need to update your drivers and software

Thanks - the model is VGN-SZ3 XWP
I can't find drivers for it from the Sony website, but perhaps you can!
