Gmail response input problems...

Hello Forum... I am getting very frustrated with Gmail, not in the main body of the response, but as the text approaches the top margin of the key pad whatever I'm inputing drops below that margin and I'm no longer able to see what I'm typing. Why doesn't the text simply scroll up one line at a time as I continue to type? If I can't correct this I'll go nuts... anybody know what to do?? Thanks!

Hi.. why does the text not roll upwards when I type? It gets to the point where the keyboard hides the text and I can't see what I'm typing. Is there a setting that keeps the last line always visible?? Thanks for any and all help in using Gmail...At the moment it's very frustrating.
