Good gaming headset?

So just wondering what a good gaming headset is. I think i am going to get the ASUS XONAR_DG 5.1 Channels PCI Interface Xonar DG Sound Card as it is cheap and will allow me to spend more money on the headset. I think my price range would be around $50 - 75 but i am also open to other options.

So yeah just want to know a good gaming headset. Doesn't have to be good for music at all as long as it is good for gaming I have bfbc2 and pre-ordered bf3.

also is the xonar dg good? i know it will be a step up from on-board audio, but are there any similarly priced ( or like maybe $40) that are substantially better?
