Meh, it's ok. All you really did is drop the SSD while upgrading the GPU. You gave him a smaller screen too.

So the two main aspects to video recording/streaming is the CPU and GPU. An i5 is good but you would really want more threads and a strong GPU with a good chunk of VRAM. For the setup you have, the GPU would hurt you when recording. What is your max budget? Is there an option for upgrading in the future?

Xeons are great options and they aren't too much more than an i5.

Personally I wouldn't get the OEM windows 8.1 if you motherboard craps out than you need to replace the same one if I understand that correctly. Also I would get a diferent SSD but that's me the savage is good from Kingston. I also got a sandisk from bestbuy for like 70 bucks and it was 240gb its been holding up nicely. I have never heard of that ram before. Shadow play seems to record with little to no hit to performance in game. If you could squeeze it I would get the 950 gtx over that 750 I have seen benchmarks with the 950 being very close to the 960 but I understand cost is always a factor

Do you think you can make a build using the items you described? I have no idea when it comes to computer parts

Take your time. Recording is taxing. You need a good number of cores/threads. Moving to a dual core would be moving backwards and would hurting your recording ability. I think an i5 is a great start. The 750ti may be a little weak but it's far easier to upgrade a GPU than a CPU. SSDs are nice but not necessary. For your $800 budget, I wouldn't even consider a SSD. I would put that additional cash in a stronger GPU or GPU.

I would have to disagee with you about the ssd. In my experience a ssd runs my games smoother and without stutter for the most part. You may be right about the number of cores I honestly have no idea but the Pentium is affordable and will get you in the game.I have a 965m in my laptop and I have no issues with recording.I say that because the 750 ti is on par with the 965m.

What ever you want there are a million options you can go and a million opinions. I would sugest research like your doing and make sure you know what your getting. You cant go wrong with a 1150 socket intel. Also if I had a choice between a hdd for $50 and a ssd for $70to$80 I would get the ssd all day its night and day on performance for a hardrive

That's cool but you can't disagree that SSDs do not help with FPS. That's a given fact. You can ask anyone. SSDs only help with load times. Your experience could have come down to a driver issue or a fresh install of the game. The 965m is equal to the 750ti. For a starter recording PC, 4 cores in my opinion is the minimum. Recording leans on the CPU and a dual core would hurt in games that require more than 2 cores.
