Good Tv tuner card for windows and linux.

I was wondering what a good tv tuner card would be that works with both windows and linux. The card would recive a signal from a direct tv reciver. The pc than would record it.(It would be like a digital vcr basically). I'm unsure if im going to use windows or linux yet but probaly both. The card can either be pci x1 or usb doesn't matter. The budget for this ideally would be under $100

How are you outputting from the DirecTV box?

Currently its connwcred to the tv via a coax cable as the tv's rca are being used and the direct tv doesn't have hdmi or composite. I was going to connect the box to the pc with either an s-video(box has one and noticed most tuners do),rca or with a coax via a splitter. The pc than would connect to the tv with hdmi as the tv has alot of hdmi ports and no vga or dvi.
