You do realise that the link you provided actually proves the iPhone 4S is fastest, right?

From Anandtech:

'The GPU results tell a similar story courtesy of some early GLBenchmark 2.1 results. The 960 x 640 results are useless as they are bound by vsync at ~60 fps. Luckly GLBenchmark 2.1 added an off-screen render mode at 1280 x 720 where we can really see the differences between the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S A5 implementations:'

http://www.anandtech.com/show/4951/iphone-4s-preliminary-benchmarks-800mhz-a5-slightly-slower-gpu-than-ipad-2

So, the reality is that you reached the wrong conclusion because you don't really understand what you're looking at. Look at the offscreen results, the only ones not limited by V-Sync, and you'll see the real picture. Pretty outrageous that someone who doesn't get something so elementary can try to label someone a 'brand zombie' for actually knowing how to interpret data, don't you think?

And by the way, I'm not even particularly pro-Apple, I'm just pro logic. If people were incorrectly bashing any company / phone I would correct them. I'm quite happy to consider either Android or Apple phones.

[citation][nom]uuicked[/nom]Look up the stats before you make stupid claims. Iphone 4s, 800mhz dual core < Prime 1.2 Ghz. Iphone 4s 512kb ram < Prime 1GB. If you like to take pretty pictures for your boyfriend well then pal your neato Iphone will trump the Prime... in all other situations where users want something unique without sacrificing in processing power, the Prime is a no brainer! Hell, most any android phone released this year has a better processor/ram combo than the Iphone, its just the dang bloatware on droids that helps iphones "SEEM" more powerful.[/citation]

It's bizarre that the comment of mine which you quoted before making this comment contained nothing whatsoever about the Prime, and then you said I have to look up stats?

While we're at it though, do you realise that the PowerVR SGX540 found in this 'flagship' model (also found in the very old Samsung Galaxy S) is slower then the Mali-400 in the Samsung Galaxy S 2, which is in turn slower than the PowerVR SGX543 found in the iPhone 4S? And yes the iPhone 4S has a better camera too. Given that the GPU is used throughout the OS, this means that every...single...app and feature is improved, and graphics intensive applications are where you really feel the benefit of an improved GPU anyway.

(And I wont even bother to explain to you that clock speed is not necessarily proportional to performance. Maybe you'll learn that at Primary School today.)

[citation][nom]Vladislaus[/nom]It depends on what you mean by faster If it's a task that doesn't have 3d rendering of any kind perhaps it will have the advantage due to a faster CPU. However if it's a 3D application it will be significantly slower because PowerVR SGX540 is no match for the SGX543MP2. Perhaps when Samsung decides to release the Galaxy S II LTE HD, Android will have a phone that beats the 4S.[/citation]

+1

I'm actually starting to respect you, Vladislaus - you seem to actually know what you're talking about. And you're objective and reasonable. A rare breed, it seems.

[citation][nom]dalethepcman[/nom]Beats the 4S in what way?screen resolution : NexusPixel density : NexusCPU power : NexusModem speeds : NexusOS customization : NexusGPU Power : 4SI guess the 4S is still the best* phone[/citation]

Screen Resolution: Nexus
Pixel Density: iPhone 4S (326 vs 316)
CPU Power: Unconfirmed (MHz is not performance)
Modem Speeds: Unconfirmed (Will await Anandtech analysis)
OS: Entirely subjective
GPU: iPhone 4S
Apps: iPhone 4S
Battery Life: Unconfirmed
Camera: iPhone 4S
Size (Volume): iPhone (nearly 33% smaller)

This doesn't prove one way or another that the iPhone 4S is better, but its certainly got a better technical hardware. The GPU/CPU combination is far superior, as is the camera. Bear in mind that the vast majority of apps etc are hardware accelerated so the GPU really does affect everything you do. The only disadvantages are (arguably) the Screen (although some prefer small with better DPI) and the LTE support (and we haven't seen real-world analysis yet of what actual differences in speed are).

I am certainly underwhelmed by the specs of the Nexus - I was hoping it may persuade me to buy but it just doesn't.

I think rather than typing your fingers into an early grave you should just wait until the new Nexus has been released - you're currently comparing tested hardware of the iphone vs unconfirmed hardware of an unreleased phone. Calm yourself down.

Hence the 'unconfirmed' and the 'awaiting Anandtech analysis' where appropriate. Your comment is more relevant to the original poster than me, I deal in facts.

You confuse yourself.

Out of the 10 area's you've listed in your previous post you stated 4 of them were unconfirmed or subjective - which is true, they are. However you then went on to say "This doesn't prove one way or another that the iPhone 4S is better, but its certainly got a better technical hardware. The GPU/CPU combination is far superior". Considering 4 of what could be voted important area's of assessing a phone's performance were unconfirmed, it's very bold of you to then form your own opinion and put it in the context of fact in the bias of one or another..

Just wait for them to be released and stop spamming the comments.

[citation][nom]subaru41[/nom]LOL, LOL. Everybody remember the name WATCHA - Steve Handjobs #1 fan. All he does is sit at home all day and trolls on all the Android and iPhone articles. He has no life and don't upset him or he will write 30 comments of his opinion on why iPhone is the best and how he right about everything. It doesn't matter if you show proof that he is wrong with website links. He will just type, LOL you are stupid. Again, don't forget the name WATCHA,[/citation]
Oh, we know who he is, just try to ignore him because he loves the attention
Personally, I think he is a bit spastic

Well lets be clear, you said that the phone hardware is unconfirmed. It isn't.

Secondly, if you do know anything about GPU's, you'll know that the PowerVR SGX540 found in this 'flagship' model (also found in the very old Samsung Galaxy S) is slower then the Mali-400 in the Samsung Galaxy S 2, which is in turn slower than the PowerVR SGX543 found in the iPhone 4S. They HAVE been tested. I'm not alone in reaching the obvious logical conclusion that it'll therefore be a better CPU/GPU combination - indeed I would say for anyone who understands CPU/GPU architecture in mobile phones it IS a given now that the hardware has been confirmed. It can be said with absolute certainty that the iPhone 4S will perform better at any tasks which are GPU limited - those tasks where you really need performance.

As for 'waiting to be released' - for many people it's important to use their brains and actual logic, particularly if they want to buy a phone now. They now know that it ISN'T worth waiting for the Prime because it's got a 2-year old GPU in it, and certainly has nothing capable of making that performance differential up (being as it is such a massive void), as well as a 5 megapixel camera and is massive. As for 'spamming' - all of my comments are replies. That makes YOU the spammer, and me the guy who is replying ;-)

Quite amusing that the kid who got mocked for being 'high school' is the guy who you hold hands with. Says a lot. And by the way, you owe me a months wages ;-)

You should also stop 'confusing yourself' by mistaking a factual claim about CPU/GPU performance to be the overall phone performance.

[citation][nom]back_by_demand[/nom]Who's joking?See that yellow triangle, try not to lick the glass...[/citation]

Yep, definitely high school.

;-)

To make an analogy, Samsung use the inferior AMD processor which needs higher clock speeds to get even vaguely close to the superior Intel offering in the iPhone. The iPhone chip is faster in real world terms, despite its inferior MHZ. Better camera in iPhone, better software in iPhone, better GPU in iPhone, better overall experience in iPhone.

Droidfags(official equivalent of iSheep) are now accepting no SD slot even though that was a huge stick to beat the king iPhone with? epic lulz

It's not spamming if it contains content pertaining to the discussion, or is a reply.

Your post is neither. Your post is spam 🙂
