and since when did parental controls actually stop someone who really wanted to look at such material... easy to bypass or find other avenues if someone wanted... and trying even harder to keep it from a kid makes the kid want it more...

It's not that the porn needs to be completely banned, but at home I have a filter on my internet that keeps porn out because I don't want my 13 year old son on there looking at it, even if it comes across accidentally. Some of us who care that our kids don't grow up to be pervs. I am a good parent but I also remember my curiosity. Why feed it? If they can just give parents the capability of blocking certain ratings of apps, what's the problem. You guys make it sound like they want to shut down the apps. Might as well take the ratings off movies then and let kids run wild. Some of you have no clue whatsoever on what you are talking about. It's just about giving parents the ability to control what their kids have access to. Because of this, my son will not have an Android phone. If you have beef with that then you truly are a MORON.

You porn addicts are morons. No one is trying to take away your porn, idiots. But parents and individuals should have the ability to block out content that they don't want. It's every bit as much their right as it is for you not to block it if you don't want to. The point is to have the choice. There's no reason Google shouldn't be able to provide that kind of control. I'm not a parent but I don't want to have to sift through all the lame "look at the naked chick" apps that plug up the market to find the one app that might be pretty cool. There's a reason iPhones apps are WAY better than Androids, in general: someone is actually making sure they have some value.

PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After reading some of this coments it just made me wonder about those people out there,so clueless acusing parents for giving their kids a smart phone,so i'll say that i just got a smart android phone wich is a real banket of porn apps in there for free!!!!!!! And it doesn't affect only kids but those with addiction problems and trying to get away with it. Since i didn't know i won't have anyway to block this garbage from my phone i am very upsad and frustrade trying to go online and finding anything that would block those dirty features.If anyone is pissed because they are trying to force the android to have a block porn feature or any better parental control,i am sorry to tell you but you are a sick addicted that really needs treatment.I wish this country would adopt the same system that UK actually it's trying now to adopt blocking pornography with a built in software that blocks porn automatically from the OS of any computer or cell phones that uses internet acces.Unfortunally our country is too corrupted too adopt a such wonderfull and clea system .I'll keep looking for a filter for my phone....
