Got a Virus, what should I do

Bing sent me to a fake download website which is now I am going back to google. It downloaded a bunch of crappy adware and probably some other malicious stuff. After that I tried to run a scan and all of a sudden my anti-virus got turned off. Then I went to system recovery and went back to the last update.

Should I be fine at this point?

System Recovery only affects system files. Whatever is actually infected may still be there.
You need to create a boot AV disk. Kaspersky or similar. Boot from that and check.

And it wasn't Bing that sent you to that site. It just presented a link. Much like Google or Yahoo might have done.

If you use Avast I suggest making a rescue disk. All you need to do is intall Avast on a PC and create a thumb drive. It requires a thumb drive of atleast 500mb's so most any today would work. Avast has a free version so shouldn't cost you anything unless you want to buy the full verison.
