Graphics card missing!!!

If any one could help,please do it fast!!! I just worked with my dell 15r laptop yesterday on nvidia gt525m without a fuss.But today when i turned it on,the graphic card was missing from my laptop!!!Not to be seen anywhere!! I checked in my dell,epsa,device mgr.,dxdiag,etc .

But i dont see it anywhere.In events tab in mydell it shows that graphics card was removed yesterday.I thought it could be due to dust or somehow it got removed.But I saw on the internet that the card was integrated on the motherboard,not as a seperate card which we could remove!!! So how it got removed??? My system is unable to load high graphic programs...The fan is simply running in high speed and due to it the laptop is getting overheated(Maybe its trying to load graphic card or the card is still consuming power simply as optimus drivers ain't working as it shows no graphic card).So,is there a solution which i can do?I am a little expert at opening computers.So if i can repair without calling dell and paying $180,it would be better.

i had the same problem with my gt 525m on my inspiron n5110
yes the gpu on a laptop is integrated on the motherboard
i had to get my mobo replaced
but thankfully my laptop was within the warranty period
the only option is get professional help
you cant do anything about it on your own

Its not showing up anywhere even in epsa during boot.I havent removed it.

Guess thats the only way.I dont have warranty so it could cost a lot right?But still,how it got dead suddenly and showed "removed" ???

I agree, the graphics card is most probably fried or has just broke. Maybe try contacting Dell.

How long have you had the laptop? Do you leave it on alot

Are you sure someone didn't open the case and removed the GPU? I am pretty sure it won't go missing just like that, otherwise, there's also the possibility it is not working. It has no legs, I doubt it can go away by itself.

How long have you had the laptop? Do you leave it on alot

It's just an year and a half old and I dont leave it on for long...

The gpu is integrated on the motherboard,so you cant remove it like that. A pro and con at the same time.

it is not possible to remove a laptop gpu since it is integrated on the motherboard
the gpu has probably stopped working
i can tell you this because the exact same thing has happened to me
the one and only option you have is contacting dell and seeking professional help
yes you might have to change your mobo
and yes that is going to cost you some money if you want to get your gpu running again

That's weird because newer generation Intel processors have Intel graphics built it. AMD also has ATI GPU integrated to their processors. I have a Dell Alienware 18 that has SLI graphics. Nvidia supplied a application where I can turn the SLI cards off and only use the integrated Intel GPU. In fact I have to turn SLI off to be able to direct video to a TV using HDMI.


Another thing is you can shop around for the motherboard (on the internet to get a better price then Dell) and take it to a repair store and they will charge you only labor to install the mobo.

Thanks everyone.I contacted dell and they told i need to replace motherboard,heatsink and fan for $180.Great.Now anyone having any laptop,please be extremely careful using it,and anyway even if you are careful,some problem will come.I will get it repaired from dell,and DELL service is great.They told they'll repair it this week!!! Quite fast enough.

There's 2 types of quality items with laptops. 1 Does the company have a quality product. 2. Does the company have quality after purchase support after a product failure.

Basically if you get a quality product that never breaks you don't get to see the second part.
