For gaming performance the GT 540M has a slight advantage overall - but they're very close. The HD 6550M moves in front on a couple of games.

Looking at the 15" 1366x768 resolution vs 17" 1600x900 resolution means a graphics card in the higher resolution 1600x900 laptop is going to under perform the same card in a 1366x768. That would widen the gap in peformance between the two options.

Thanks for the help. I was thinking the exact thing but its hard for me to listen to my thoughts I kinda gotta hear it from someone else before it really sinks in. I'll grab the 15" for the performance factor, lugging around a 17" would get boring anyhow. Thanks !
