I have an HP Envy laptop with windows 8. I have a windows 8.1 full install disc. My laptop will not boot from the dvd drive even though I set the correct boot order. I have also disabled secure boot and enabled legacy devices. I was messing around with the disk volumes and think that I erased the partition with the original OS. I now get a hard disk 301 error and it says to install and OS. Iike I said before, I do have a windows 8.1 full installation disk, it just wont boot to it. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you1

I tried that already. It just wont boot to anything but the [os boot] even though I put that at the bottom of the list and the BIOS won't let me disable it.

Did that too. I was thinking of just getting a new hard drive but I would be wasting money if I can't get it to boot to a usb or cd/dvd rom drive.

Haven't tried that yet. Would I still need a usb for the laptop to boot to?
