Hard wiring the power cable

Be honest guys - has anyone actually tried removing the power jack and hard wiring the cable to the board? If so, how did it pan out?

Are you talking about the 24pin power cable? Why would you want to? Just to lower the resistance or to clean up the aesthetics?

Sorry - I thought it would be enough to put it in the Laptop sub-Forum. It's a Samsung laptop and I'm wondering if I can fix it without bothering to buy another power jack.
