HARMON/kardon AVR155 connections

I need to hook up my Harmon/Kardon AVR155 to my Toshiba 55w800A but the sound doesn't work. Picture is fine. I've got component and available cables in plus optical audio cable. Also changed TV settings. What an I missing? Help please. Cheers.

Can't find any information on that TV online. Are you sure that the receiver works? Try the tuner in the receiver if you have an antenna connected.
If you are using the TV optical audio output to an optical input on the receiver then
1. Make sure that the optical output is turned on in the TV menu. You may have to also turn off the TV speakers.
2. Make sure that you have assigned the optical connection (for example opt 2) to an input name in the receiver input set up menu.
