I'm not sure if the local HD stations in Phoenix aren't broadcasting it
or if it's the STB or maybe the HD programs from CBS, NBC, ABC & WB ?

Also, has anyone else notice that the audio momentarily blanks out
every once in a while?

BTW, This STB only has an optical output for digital audio. So you
can't use a cheap RCA cable...

Optical cables for this kind of stuff are really cheap, too. It's
basically just a light pipe, and it's visible light, at that. You don't
need some crazy expensive cable for optical. I have a handful of these
cables and they work great:

In Phoenix we only get 5.1 on certain football games on CBS (Cha
5)...CBS seems to be the only one that has 5.1 capabilities but they
seldom use it...

Channel 12 is working on getting their 5.1 up and running. No idea
about BAC or FOX.
