Have new Samsung smart tv. When I connect it to an older Toshiba DVD/VHS player with the yellow-red-white connectors, I get a

We're getting a great picture but, for the life of us, can not figure out how to get sound. DVD/VHS player worked just fine last night on old tv - have just hooked up to a newer tv.

Check your connections. The red and white connectors are for audio. Not hard to get them in the wrong jacks.
