Having trouble finding replacement laptop screen

I have a MSI 15.6" 3K GS60 Ghost Pro 3K-097 that was bought in 2014. I recently had someone break the screen by closing it with something between the screen and keyboard. I am having a hard time finding a replacement screen for it. While it seems that exact screen is discontinued on the sites I've looked on, there is a lower resolution (same physical size) screen that is for another laptop seemingly in the same model range. I'm trying to find out if I could replace the 3k screen with a 1080p version. I don't mind the resolution loss, my eyes work better at 1080p anyway.

I'll try posting some links to what I've found, but I'm not entirely sure what the policy is on those. I'm not entirely sure how many pins are used or the position of the connector as I haven't taken them off. It's not something I want to undertake until I have a replacement ready to install. It's still my primary computer and is hooked up to an external monitor currently.

Thanks for the link, I'll have to wait until he's accepting orders again, but if I can't find something by then I'll definitely grab it.

Does anyone know if that would work? I apologize, but I'm so lost with this. I can take the screen apart if I can locate a part number that corresponds.
