Hey!

Just bought myself a Lenovo G405 laptop yesterday. I'm just having an issue with loading videos on Youtube. Everytime I try to load an HD video on Youtube, it gets choppy and laggy. Sometimes, the audio plays just fine but the video is not keeping up. This happens both in Chrome and Firefox. I tried playing HD videos on VLC and Windows Media Player and they're playing seamlessly without any problems.

This is the processor the laptop has: AMD E1-2100 APU with Radeon Graphics 1.00 Ghz

I'm running on Windows 8.1.

What could be the problem? Hope someone helps me out.

Thanks!

Firefox is working fine. Just had to tweak some settings.

Did the following for Chrome to no avail, still getting choppy lagging HD videos on youtube:

-reinstall browser
-disabled hardware acceleration
-disabled shockwave pepper flash

Those are basically the only offered solutions I've read so far but none worked. Anyone got better ideas?

Spoke too soon about Firefox, 720p plays flawlessly but 1080p is still choppy and laggy.

With regard to my internet connection, I tried letting the video load fully before playing it but still got the same results. As I've said, the audio is playing fine (which I assume means the video has fully loaded) while the video keeps on lagging. Also did a speed test and got a download rate of around 5MB/s... same speed I usually get when loading other HD videos that don't get this problem.

Try downloading and using MozillaFirefoxPortable Version 27 @ http://sourceforge.net/projects/portableapps/files/Mozilla%20Firefox%2C%20Portable%20Ed./Mozilla%20Firefox%2C%20Portable%20Edition%2027.0.1/FirefoxPortable_27.0.1_English.paf.exe/download. It will not ovveride your current firefox

Download ChromiumPortable Version31 @ https://downloads.sourceforge.net/crportable/ChromiumPortable_31.0.1650.8.paf.exe
