Hi

I am trying to set up my amplifier (a sony STR DH820) with my computer. I had it connected as a second screen, so it was passed the audio (7.1) and the video, but I didnt use the video. Then I got a actual second screen and now I can only have 2 screens (for annoying reason that you can only use 2 out of DVI DVI and HDMI, I have a amd 6950 graphics card.)

But the point is that I can no longer use this method to get the audio to my amp and speakers. I could use optical but apparently this only allows for 5.1 not the full 7.1.

Please help, what is the best option?

Thanks

Laurence

run main monitor 1 from "Radeon HD 6950 HDMI out" into RV Receiver "Sony STR-DH820" run HDMI cable 2 from sony hdmi tv out to a converter DVI D Male To HDMI Female Adapter "http://www.quill.com/tripp-lite-d-male-to-hdmi-female/cbs/319210.html?cm_mmc=SEM_PLA_319210&srccode=cii_17588969&cpncode=31-104173984-2" into Main Monitor 1, then just run a normal DVI cable from Radeon 6950 into second monitor.
