hdmi cable failure

I have an LG LM6700 series smart television. I have it connected to a Sony 400 disc DVD player, model number DVP-CX995V. The HDMI inputs on the LG will not show a picture from the Sony. I have tried everything to get the two devices to work. Component works, but I prefer to utilize the Hdmi. Can anyone help? thx

There are both HDMI in and out ports, make sure you have HDMI in on the TV and HDMI out on the DVD player. If that doesn't work try another HDMI cable.

Since the DVD does not have HDMI inputs and the TV does not have HDMI outs you can't get the hookup wrong. Do try another cable but also try another HDMI input. Sometimes that works.
