HDMI cable keeps going out

My sound on the TV is just static when I try to play a DVD or stream. So I got a new HDMI cable and that worked for about a week. Now suddenly it's not working again.

did you pay like a dollar for the hdmi cable or did you buy something substantial for like 8 bucks?

It was a nice one, over $20.

have you tried a different hdmi input and how are you streaming?

I'm streaming with a blueray machine. I've looked for other HDMI inputs and can't see any...

well, that narrows down being able to check if it is the hdmi port on the tv. I have seen tv's have a bad port just like a router can have a bad port. In your case the only way you may check that is to hook the bluray to another tv and see if problem still persist.
