I have a Yamaha RX-V379 (not the best I'm aware) A/V receiver and for some reason ALL of the HDMI inputs from the receiver do not allow any sound from my speakers to come. The speakers work fine when when the input is switched to AUX or RADIO, but when the input is HDMI there is no sound coming out and I tried configuring AMP to ON and HDMI OUT to OFF.

P.S. More specifically there is an icon on the front display of the receiver that show if the speakers are connected or not, and every time I switch to HDMI inputs they do not display, only on TUNER and AUX do they display.

I thank you for taking your time to read this and answering in advance.

Solution
The display on the front of the receiver is the based on the input not the speaker configuration. Check the input set up menu. You can make sure that the audio is set to HDMI (rather than optical, coax or analog inputs).
Here is a link to the manual. Page 20 has the instructions about this.
