HDMI not working

I have a HP laptop g62
2 GB ram i3 m 330 2.13 GHz 32 bit
Windows 10 direct x 12 Intel HD graphics integrated 1 GB no external memory
I had the laptop in storage for about two years it had windows 8 then when connected to a tv then and the HDMI worked fine when I tried now the HDMI cable on my new TV
Toshiba I did not work I tried the cable on my other laptop it worked fine so the TV and the cable is fine
I upgraded the windows on the lap to windows 10 but it did not work as well and that was a clean install updated to the latest and the drivers are updated as well
When I connect the HDMI the following happen
The laptop ping sound and the screen blink so it know there is a cable and the TV if closed opens by it self so as well it know there is a cable but still display no signal on TV
What can I do ?
N.b the sound card is realtek

I know this might be obvious...but sometimes the obvious gets overlooked.

Is the input setting on the TV set correctly?

Also try this...power up the PC..leave the TV off....let the PC boot all the way...then turn on the TV.

If that doesn't work, try the opposite (power up the TV first).

If you mean by input settings HDMI 1 or two yes its correct
After trying if TV is off powering on the laptop as it reaches lock screen TV power on by it self and laptop screen blinks but still no signal
TV is on then powering the laptop nothing happen and still no signal I am starting to think the the HDMI socket in the laptop is mal functioning

Try a different cable and another HDMI input.
With HDMI the combination of the source-cable-display affects how the source and display "handshake". Just because it works with a different laptop doesn't mean that the cable will work with every laptop.
The order you boot the laptop and select the input it's connected to also affects how the two "handshake".
