Hi there. I am trying to figure out some confusion. My laptop has an APU processor AMD A4-3300M. The native resolution is 1366x768. So the display itself can only produce HD of 720p. Can the HDMI port do better when connected to a TV for instance? Can it produce 1080p?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Solution
Yes HDMI can output 1080p providing that the APU is able to render that resolution

Your APU is capable of output that resolution but know that performance is lower than 720p because of the heavier load on the APU ....

To be 100% sure , read the manual of your laptop it should contain the maximum resolutions the laptop's ports are able to output
