HDMI ports on my Toshiba seem to "go out" They work if I unplug the TV and reset it. What makes this happen?

This problem affects both my satellite box (Directv) and my bluray player. Frustrating to have to unplug the TV to "reset" it everytime I want to watch TV. Help?

On some TVs the order that you turn things on affects how the HDMI inputs "handshake" with the components connected to it. Try turning the sat box on before the TV and vice versa. If this does not help then there may be a problem with either the HDMI cables (less likely) or the TV.
