I have an approximately 30 ft HDMI cable going from my tv to my cable box. I cannot get a signal. I tried a different HDMI cable and it worked fine, which leads me to believe that it is the 30 ft cable cable not the cable box. However, I connected the 30 ft HDMI cable to both my Apple TV and blu ray player and I had no signal issue. the audio and visual quality were perfect. Can anyone provide insight on what is going on here? thanks!!!

Solution
When you connect one HDMI source with a cable to an HDMI TV the combination may not work because one of the three are not quite up to HDMI specs. The same cable may work with the same TV and a different source as you found out bacause the cable box may be just under spec and the others just above.
The longer the cable the more likely that it can cause this kind of problem. There are HDMI amplifiers that you can try or a different cable.
