HDMI to RCA Converter only displays Black and White

I bought a HDMI to RCA converter to use a Chromecast on my Sony Trinton 1992. However, when I plug it in the No Signal screen was only showing in black and white. It works in color on other televisions, but not this one. What can I do to fix this?

On what specifically? There is no option on the tv to change the resolution.

Does the cable convert to NTSC or PAL?
And is your TV NTSC or PAL??
I had this kind of problem with a PS1 that I got as a gift from the US (I live in Europe).
This does not tend to be a problem on a modern display because they can autodetect the standard and adjust the display accordingly.
