im just wondering what the best HDTV calibration dvd/program/software or whatever is right now. ive heard of avia, but is it out of date? also digital video essentials. im getting a new HDTV soon and want to take it off torch mode asap

Solution
test patterns are test patterns.. they arent gonna change.

you have to make a decision:
do you want to rely on your eyeballs to get the colors right?
or
do you want to rely on a piece of hardware to get the colors right?

**edit**
the hardware isnt going to adjust the sharpness for you, so you are gonna have to rely on your eyeballs anyways.
and if you want to adjust the colors, you need color filters.
