Hey, I have been looking to buy this monitor

or

and I have been thinking, should I just go all out and get an HDTV for my monitor? Because I've been thinking about getting a hd tuner/tv tuner if I get 1 of those monitors and I was going to use the hdmi input in these monitors for my xbox360 elite. But, I do not have very much money, even $700 is pushing it for my pc monitor. What do you guys recommend?

One more question, should I just get a 720p HDTV if I get it under 40" ? I was thinking about the sharp 32" 1080p but I heard that smaller than 40" you cannot tell the difference between 720p and 1080p.

For uses, mainly pc games, xbox360 games then TV/Media as my secondary uses.

I have a migraine so if something doesn't make sense or you want more info on something please tell me 😉

I was in the same situation a few months ago...

I bought a 27" Viewsonic 1080p Monitor and paid $600 for it back when CompUSA had the deal. I love it. It looks so good with my 360 and PC. I don't have a TV tuner in my PC, so I don't know how that looks. I bet it would look amazing with a cable box and HDTV.

As for an HDTV, I'm sure you would be happy with it. I have hooked up my laptop to my parent's 42" Samsung hdtv and it looked good and that was via VGA cable. I have also heard that with anything below ~40" you can't tell the difference between 720 and 1080. For gaming, a monitor has a low response time, which eliminates ghosting. I don't know what the response time of a typical HDTV is though.

Hope this helps.

thanks, yeah I think the response time on HDTV's are 6-8 ms response time but I've only seen a few with 6 and many with 8. Also with an HDTV the view distance should be farther away and I think I want to put my monitor on my desk where my current monitor is so I think I'll go with pc monitor 😉
