Headphone not loud enough question.

Hi im having a hard time figuring out why my headphones dont play loud enough truh certain devices especialy my monitor.

I got no problem with the sound coming out my computer if my headphones are plugged directly in it. But my consoles are plugged into my monitor also (Benq xl2720)

From the monitor i got the audio out going into M Audios Av40 wich also play loud enuff and everything is good.

Now my question\problem is why when i plug my headphones in the m audio headphonejack i need to turn them up more than half volume to start hearing anything. And plugging the headphones in the monitor out jack directly plays the so quiet.

Is it the headphones fault? Headphones are Sony Elite Pulse

The issue is the monitor output. Both of your issues come in after the monitor. The speakers are louder because they are amplified.

Okay thanks so do i need to buy amplified headphones. Not sure if the ones i have are amplified or not. Or do i need to buy a headphone amplifier?

A headphone amp should do the job, that way you can set the relative volume on it an you won't need to adjust things all the time.
