Headphones issues in toshiba laptop

Hi,

I have a toshiba L50D-B laptop running windows 8.1 alongside ubuntuGNOME 14.04.

After an Ubuntu update, I'm having problems with audio.

1.The speaker and headphones play at the same time on Ubuntu.

2. Only the speaker plays audio on windows. Headphones don't work.

I googled my problem and tried alsamixer. A screenshot of the same: http/i.imgur.com/WY0avNS.png

All the sound drivers in Windows are up to date.

Hi,

Inside Windows plug in your headset then right click on the speaker icon located on the lower right hand corner. Select Playback Devices and make sure headphone is Set as Default. To set it as default just right click on it and select Set as Default.
