Headset microphone randomly stopped working

I was using my HyperX cloud 2 headset to talk to my friends when it randomly stopped recording sound. I do not believe the issue to be with the headset as I have tried it with other devices and the microphone works fine. I can also hear audio fine, my laptop just doesn't seem to pick up any sound input

Any suggestions on how to solve this

Look at your audio settings first and then reinstall the audio drivers if this does not work.

Alternatively you may have damaged the audio socket.

This JUST happened to me. I unplugged the headest at the volume control on the cord, then when plugged back in no mic
