hi.
i have recently purchased astro a40 headset with the mixamp pro 2015 edition,
it is working fine with my xbox one but does not seem to be recognised by my pc (windows 7 x64)
according to astro it is a driverless install but when i plug the mix amp in it tells me that windows could not install drivers,
it is taking power from the usb cable and i have also tried a few different cables in all ports with no luck,
unfortunately i do not have access to any other headsets or pcs... all of my motherboard and audio drivers seem to be up to date also,
please help
thanks

Hi chris,
thanks for the answer ,
it states in the astro support page that you linked, that the headset should work for sound and voice through usb and to do this i need to select the mixamp as default device in playback and recording devices,
but as i stated the mixamp does not show up on these lists when connected via usb as windows apparently cannot install the drivers,
which makes me think it is more a windows problem rather than an astro issue?

Thanks

http://www.astrogaming.com/a40-headset/A40-HEADSET-ASTRO-GEN2-360.html
this is the exact headset that i have which is fully compatible with the PC as it should work for sound and voice Via USB as a plug and play device,
and there is no way to update firmware through the XB1.
i have updated the firmware on my pc through astros software
Windows recognizes the mixamp but apparently cannot see that it is an audio device. as it does not show up as a sound device in the control panel
