help 512GB or 256 plus external hard drive

im about to get the new RB14, the two options are 256GB and 512GB with about a $400 difference.

Opting for the 256GB and an external hard drive
advantage: cost about $100 for 1TB external hdd, so i would save about $300 and get an addition 750GB external HDD storage
disadvantage: have to lug around an extra device and dedicated wire

Opting for the 512GB
advantage: more built in space and faster read and write speeds (PCI-E), no additional storage devices and wires to carry around
disadvantage: $400 more and lose out on 750GB external HDD storage

do you think its worth it to get the 512GB option that cost $400 dollars more? or carry around a bunch of stuff and inconveniently unplug and plug for the additional space?

If your on the go a TON, then just buy the 512GB and call it a day. But if you do travel half of the time with your laptop but have it sit on a desk the other half of the time then I'd say a external drive is good.
