So i want to buy a notebook and i found these two:

Notebook Asus
Processor: Intel Core i5 4th Generation
Speed: 1.6 GHz withTurbo Boost up to 2.6 GHz
RAM: 4GB
Hard Drive: 500GB
Screen Size: LED 14"
Video: Intel HD Graphics 4000

or

Notebook Acer Aspire
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5 4th Generation
Speed 1.70 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 2.70 GHz
RAM:4GB
Hard Drive:500GB
Screen Size: LED 15,6 ''
Vídeo: Intel® HD Graphics 4400

They are very simmilar as you can see, i guess one big difference is the screen size.

I need it for college mostly but i like to play some games in my spare time, i don't expect it to run next gen games and stuff, but at least it has to run medium games smootly...
Oh yeah, the game i play the most is DOTA 2

Thanks in advance.

PS: english is not my native language so sorry if i made any mistakes.

The ASUS one, in my opinion, look much better.
And i know that ASUS' support is very good, aswell. Atleast my experience when regarding laptops.
So, for normal use, the ASUS would be the more "flexible" one. Easy to carry around, looking good and with decent performance.

If you judge the difference in performing power between the two; I can tell you that it's marginal.
An extra 100Mhz on the CPU doesn't really do very much. Same goes with the integrated graphics.
The 4400 might be slightly better, but that's nothing to argue about, really.
And, as bootcher said; You can run the games at Low-settings, if they are compatible enough.

So, I'd go with the ASUS - Good looking, handy, and a overall great laptop.
Overall, it's your choice. But to me, the ASUS is the winner.

Good Luck!

I do know the fact that ASUS' Notebooks are really nice. (Then Im sort of a ASUS fanboy, too ^^)
I have used a ASUS Zenbook once, UX32LN-R4077H, and they are brilliant, but expensive. It might be sligtly similar to the Notebook.
However, do you have any specific computers you're looking for?
Like their product number etcetera, so we can get some more exact intel.
DOTA 2 i seem to remember is quite light to run, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Good Luck and have a Great Day!
Axel.

Hmmm, this?

Acer - E5 E5-571-54MC

Asus - X450LA-BRAL-WX084H

but i dont know if that's gonna help, as i mentioned, english is not my native langue so i'm guessing if you search that, the results will come up in another language ( in that case, portuguese)...

thanks for the reply though
Have a great day too
