I was going to download iTunes.

I clicked download just as I realized it was not the official apple website. So idiot google chrome did not give me a second chance to say no.

I managed to stop the installation, but it downloaded a widget.

I have located the widget, but when I try to delete it, it says folder in use cannot be deleted.

How do I force delete it?

Is there any way to check for anything else that may have snuck on?

So you have uninstalled the widget and rebooted?

try save mode
if not you can install a program called unlocker, it helps you identify what program is preventing you from deleting objects. and can force delete things

People are complaining about malware, spyware, and toolbars in that one too. How do I know whether or not it is safe to download?

I got rid of almost everything. The only things left are the smartbar application and quickshare application.

The problem is. When I try to delete smart bar it says this:

So I tried to uninstall quickshare:

So I go to uninstall it. Then is pops up (It then closes and nothing happens):
