Help me choose a laptop

I have narrowed down to these laptops for my needs, which are:
-Web Surfing
-Watching HD Videos
-MS Office Application
-Good Battery backup
-Long term reliability (specially overheating is a common issue)

You may suggest me other models anywhere from USA [Strict Budget Limit is $400]

The models are:
1. Lenovo G50

They are all pretty much similar to each other since they all have the same CPU and integrated graphics core. The exception is the 2nd Dell 15 3000 laptop which has the current 5th generation Core i3 CPU which is clocked a little higher and has a slightly more powerful integrated GPU. It also consumes a little less power than the 4th generation Intel CPU which should allow for longer battery life assuming all the components and the capacity of the battery is the same for all laptops.

Hard to say if any of them have any potential overheating issues without reading reviews. But Core i3 CPUs do not generate much heat and none of the laptops have dedicated graphics which generates heat as well. Overheating issues are generally limited to laptops with dedicated GPUs and laptops that have sucked in too much dust or the thermal paste has dried up and turned to powder.

Well if u want to buy a laptop u should buy one with atleast a 2nd generation i7 processor lots of DDR3 RAM a good DDR5 graphics card possibly a nvidia GTX 540 M or something like that i would recommend you a dell n series 4550.

I have seen video review of thee Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series in general, and it seems that this series has build issues. The body is very weak. It wobbles when you even put the slightest pressure. So thats got me worrying.

Read some of the 1 and 2 star reviews to get a general idea of what people do not like about those laptops. For example, I recall reading a comment a while ago that the hinges on the Lenovo G50 seems to be pretty weak and can be easily damaged compared to average laptops. Generally speaking, as long as you are not rough with a budget laptop it should be fine.

Thanks. Actually a very good idea man. I will look into that. Though as I said the construction of the Dell had wobbling issues when pressed even with the pinch of pressure.

Just another thing, I could not exactly pin point the exact model of the Lenovo laptop. Their website has G50-70 and G50-80. I could not find the exact series from amazon. And both 80 and 70 variants have different versions of drivers. If you have any idea how to do that then i would appreciate it very much.

It is the G50-70 series.

The G50-80 series has the 5th generation Intel Core CPUs.
