I'm looking to by a new laptop for university, but I don't really know what's worth buying.

Budget: 500€
Screen size: 15.6"
Use: development, photoshop

I'm by no means looking for a really powerful laptop, but I'd like it to run smoothly. So far I've been considering the following laptops:

Acer Aspire E1-571 (NX.M09EX.103)
Price: 475€
CPU: i5-3210M
RAM: 4GB
Warranty: 2Y

Lenovo B580
Price: 515€
CPU: i5-3210M
RAM: 4GB
GPU: GT 610M 1GB
Warranty: 1Y

Acer Aspire V5-571 (NX.M1JEX.015)
Price: 525€
CPU: i5-3317u
RAM: 4GB
Warranty: 2Y

Dell Inspiron 15 (N3521)
Price: 480€
CPU: i5-3217U
RAM: 4GB
Warranty: 3Y

I've heard a lot of bad feedback regarding Acer laptops and their failure rate, so Lenovo seems the better option, but it only comes with a 1Y warranty. I'd go with the Dell but the CPU is a lot weaker in comparison to the other laptops.

I live in Slovenia by the way, and I've been looking at the following shops:

For any laptop you choose . I recommend you to buy a laptop with preinstalled windows 8 and nvidia gt 610m should be the minimum or if you willing to wait you, buy a laptop that doesn't come with discreete gpu,but with the new intel processor "haswell"beside it will be much lighter than anylaptop you mentioned.

Unfortunately I cannot wait as uni starts next week again. Considering I'm not really gonna play any games on the laptop is a dedicated GPU needed with the i5 processors?

It's more than enough believe me! And i really... really... recommend you to use a laptop with windows 8(very smooth). Windows 8 is fast, fluid, efficient.even with much lower spec than an i5 with windows 8 it looks like a smooth silk laptop.
But future proof i recommend the i5 3210m as a minmum in your need.

I already own windows 8 so I'm gonna install that. I'm leaning towards the Acer Aspire E1-571 for 475€, hopefully I have some luck with Acer I guess.

Btw,what's your screen size preferences?and what's your budget? So , i maybe recommend you another notebook.or else you are really stuck.on these laptop

The 610m is slightly worse than the hd 4000 so there is really no point buying it unless you need a nvidia gpu for something (though it will be horrendously weak). It might have better driver support for things such as photoshop though. Are there any laptops in your price range with a 7670m?

15.6" and about 500€.
