Help Needed! Weird reset?

I was texting my friend and it was all fine. Then, he texted me back and i heard the rings but i there were no new messages. I texted him back and it rang again. I restarted my phone and now all my apps are gone. My contacts are gone as well, leaving me with only photos. Please help!
Phone is an HTC Panache (HTC Mytouch in US). Thanks!

Did you backup you backup your phone before this happened?

I only backup backup'd my contacts and sms messages. Apps and all those are gone
I don't trust syncing because it gives me all these contacts on facebook and i don't really know them
