Help picking laptop? Asus 1060 vs R3 980

My friend has a couple laptops for sale. One being an ASUS GL702 or gl502 (about 100 less) with a 1060 gpu, 16 GB Ram, i7-6700hq. He also has an Alienware R2 with same stats except a 980m. The Alienware would be about the same in price for me. I heard complaints on both but have had Alienware in the past and really liked it. I've heard ASUS has bad heating problems except for the GL752. Would I be fine with the 980m or should get the ASUS. I'm wanting to play games like Squad and pc only games but not AAA games.

I assume it's mobile, he hasn't updated it so it would be the card it came with. Would I be ok with a 980m for a couple more years until I move to a desktop? Do you know of ASUS 702 hearing problems?

I would go with the 1060 one. Both are going to be good, but the 1060 one will be good longer

No idea about heating issues, unfortunately
