Thanks for the replys. The review sites are wonderful Dax. I've got days of reading there. Auburn, the sad thing is only pentax users that I can find. LOL. I am just looking for a family camera, but I'm tired of the limitations you encounter with the point and shoots. I really like the Nikon, I just have to decide wheather its worth the extra dollars. I have the 10D, which is the dRebel's big brother, and absolutely love it.
Either way I think both are wonderful cameras, but I'd go for the dRebel body only, and get the Canon 24-85mm USM lens for it if your wallet will stand for it. IMHO the "stock" lens' on both cameras are the weakest link the the image quality chain.
