Help with CD/DVD Drive???? Please!!!

Hi...I have a Toshiba A215 with a Pioneer DVD-RW ATA device drive. (don't know if this is for cd's also but it's the only one that shows up under my device manager for cd/dvd-rom drives). All of a sudden I cannot burn from itunes of picasa. Any help would be appreciated. I cannot play dvd's either. Thank you.

Can you still see the drive in my computer and such? If so, is it giving you any kind of error messages?

All of a sudden. My toshiba/vista/windows 7 laptop will not recognize my dvd/cd-r drive. I can't play movies or burn cd's. It shows dvd in the registry.

When I look in "my computer" it does not show as a drive. When I go to play a DVD it says it can't find the drive. Itunes says the same.
